Medford, Oregon, May 6, 2018 — Sometimes I’m kind of material-minded, and think “down to earth” thoughts. Other times I feel rather woo-woo, but there it is.
I believe there are multiple universes, our physical universe being but one. And that, in a way, these can be pictured as all in ONE place, but “invisible” and generally inaccessible to each other. My hippie years suggest they have a different vibration, but really I’ve no clue, and because time and space seem to be pretty darn twisty anyway, it may be that 70 million light-years away may sometimes be as nearby as the house next door, under the right conditions.
And I believe that these universes are infinite, and that more are created all the time.
I *suspect* that every time one of mus makes a decision it *may* spin off another child universe which is the same except for that decision which was made, so there is a YOU in many or most of them.
Now because of decisions made by someone else way back, perhaps in some of those universes you are the Queen of England, and in another it’s called the Queenie of Poodlesnoot, and in another you’re living under a bridge, and in another you’re a famous male model in Esquire magazine, or a famous female kung-fu actress from China.
And because of decisions you made yourself, in some you’re very much like yourself in the mirror at your house today, except that you are living in Tucson, or in a hillbilly cabin far in the Ozark mountains, or in Sri Lanka, where you repair bicycles and enjoy inappropriate sexual activities. But I wander.
Now .. I think that sometimes these universes or parts of them, “leak” or have thin parts, or that we or some of us have the ability sometimes to move into our out of one or more of these. There may be doors, or deserts where you walk across and emerge into a different universe, or maybe even at the back of a large wardrobe in an abandoned bedroom which opens onto a country with fauns and talking animals, and a Lion and a Witch.
I think every possible Universe exists. And I think some exist which would seem impossible to you or to me, because different decisions were made about how gravity works, or the direction of time, or the possibility of telepathy.
I think this phenomena of all-possible universes with occasional ‘thin points’ between them and ‘us’ accounts for many of the magical and non-“natural” experiences that we experience and that are reported. Aliens, faeries on landscapes that go on forever, giants and trolls and goblins and demons and ghosts and perhaps some visions of Heaven or Hell. Perhaps astral projection, waking dreams, some hallucinations and visions and perhaps epiphanies.
And possibly the invisible companions of so many children, and impossible occurrences like driving a car through a massive tree safely, or changing the direction of a motorcycle in mid air, or a plethora of phenomena and experiences that we just cannot explain …
That’s my personal belief.
If true, it explains much, and I see no particular reason that it not be true. It feels more likely than a single universe does.
So that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
